Most therapy or counselling, is “talk therapy.”

Talk therapy with a therapist you trust can be worthwhile and enjoyable (believe me- I enjoy it as a therapist AND as a client). However, long standing problem areas are often a result of chronic stress and trauma. And talking doesn’t activate the parts of the brains that have been impacted by trauma and stress. 

This is why, as a trauma-informed and trauma-focused therapist, my approach addresses the root of the problem. I’m trained in a variety of therapies and trauma techniques that go beyond talking and activate the brain and body to move towards healing.
